Mukteshwar is called the city of clouds because Mukteshwar is such a place, where sometimes you are above the clouds, and sometimes the clouds are beside you, and the sights of those clouds, a different level, you must have never seen such a beautiful view before.
Mukteshwar is a hill station in the Nainital district of Kumaun in the state of Uttarakhand, it is 51 km from Nainital Lake, its elevation is 2,171 m above sea level.
Feeling the cool breeze from the Nainital Lake, we head towards Mukteshwar.
As soon as you are half way to Mukteshwar, you will start seeing spectacular views of the Himalayas, seeing those views, you will think that you will spend an evening there, but now we have to see even more beautiful sights, then we move to Mukteshwar.
Chauli ki Zali – From the Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple, a footpath leads to the Chauli Ki Jaali, it is around 250m. Chauli Ki Jaali is a very good view point, from here you can see 360° view of Himalayas and velleys which is Unforgettable. It is 2,290m above sea level. Chauli means Rock and Jaali means Hole, here is a rock which has a hole and it is believed that any woman who does not have children, if she comes out of this hole with true devotion, she will have children. When Baba Gorakhnath went on a journey to Jageshwar Dham, due to this rock, obstacles arose in his way, then he struck a hole in the rock with his weapon.
Zero Point Mukteshwar – This place is called zero point because, after reaching here, the road ends, it can neither be reached by car nor on foot, there is a field from there the cloud-covered valleys of the ocean of milk. And the beautiful range of Himalayas is visible in front, the morning view here is so amazing that you will not want to go back from here. There is a lot of snowfall in the time of December and January. To stay here, you need to book cottages of KMVN (Kumaun Mandal Vikas Nigam) and there are some good hotels to stay nearby. Once you come to Mukteshwar Zero Point, then see the beauty of this place will attract you forever.
Bhalugar Waterfall – There is an absolutely uphill trek of about 1.5 km from the main road to this waterfall, it is a jungle trek, although this trek is not very big yet the experience of this track is full of fun, and when walking on those thin trails we go to Bhalugad. On reaching the waterfall, the spectacular views there, the melodious sound of the waterfall falling from a height of about 60 feet makes the mind absolutely calm and satisfied.
